  • Flowers can remind us of hope.

    That something so small like a seed can bloom into mountainous gardens that provide cathartic moments of joy for days, weeks, years…sometimes, even a lifetime.

    Similar to us, we start off small and young without any set plans and eventually begin to reach for the sun: defiant, strong, beautiful, and filled with purpose.

    That is of course, if given the conditions to grow. Watered just the right amount, pushed just enough, bask just enough sunshine and learn to embrace rain.

    Sometimes life plants people in our gardens, but whether they grow isn't always up to us. Even when conditions aren’t perfect, we work to keep it alive.

    After-all, isn’t that what we’re supposed to do?

  • This song and album is a larger commentary on how hard people try to keep things alive. Just like flowers, we plant seeds with the hope something beautiful will grow. That we’ll have a garden so large that was created over time. Some flowers spring up quickly. Some last forever. Some simply die. But we never stop planting seeds. We never stop trying to see those flowers grow.

  • “CLOSE TO THE END” is about managing expectations while also acknowledging personal desires. It’s also about getting someone to loosen up, drop excuses and just let everything go. It was the second song written for the project. It’s an important album starter, as it beings the journey of planting a new seed of romance.

  • “FOOL” is a self-aware sense of torture. The thought of being emotionally weak is too exposing and continuously subscribing to a situation that no longer serves you can make one look like an idiot at self-preservation. How long will can this go on? Is it possible to drop a sense of pride for true happiness? Will this even bring that happiness?

  • “FAST FLIGHT” is the very first song we intentionally wrote for this project. It’s the birth and ethos of HIDDEN PPL. It’s a bratty song that plays with the idea of taking a trip to see a new lover. It includes the lyric “don’t let it die“, which is the ongoing fear and theme throughout the project. It was the hardest song perfect and the most rewarding one to listen back on now.

  • “CHANCE IT“ starts the entire cycle of human connection again. It was important this album ended on an uplifting dialogue that has hope for a beautiful future. It’s sonically a dizzy daydream we’ve been trying to write for a long time.
